Villa Hegra is an exciting new creative institution inspired by some of Europe’s prestigious cultural institutions. It will host cultural and intellectual activities bringing together the best of Saudi Arabia’s artistic scenes to be enjoyed by an international and local audience.

There will be several complementary cultural spaces and the project will work to bridge the historic city and the oasis, by proposing a contemporary rereading of the duality between Al Ula’s old town and the summer farms located in the palm grove that faces it.

The design is based on a regular structural grid made of slender columns.  The main floor is sur-elevated from the ground offering a transparent ground level accessible to the public.
