This project consists of the execution, on behalf of the RH company, of the restructuring works in respect of the building located at 23, avenue des Champs Elysées in Paris’s 8th arrondissement.

The existing building consists of a 5-storey complex above ground, resting on a basement level, comprising:

– A primary 5-storey structure,

– A first-floor extension dating from 2010.

A network of ventilation ducts is also present below the basement level.

The RH project provides for the redevelopment of the building and consists primarily of:

– Modification of the use of spaces on the 4th floor; in particular, conversion from office space to a modern and sophisticated lounge area;

– Modification of vertical circulations with:

-Replacement of the current stairwell by a new one,

-Replacement of the current panoramic lift with a solid concrete block shaft by a larger steel and glass lift,

-Replacement of the staircase railing near the entrance on the garden side that leads to the 2nd floor terrace.

-Construction of the so-called “Winter Garden” glazed metal structure extension at 2nd floor level, on the roof of the 2010 extension,

-Change of use of the roof terrace, with the creation of an accessible and vegetated space,

-Refitting of the plant rooms in the basement through the creation of a mezzanine in the space currently occupied by AHU and chiller unit.

-Construction of an extension, known as “Pavilion”, at the rear of the courtyard.

The rehabilitation project at 23, Champs Elysées is a concrete example of Terrell’s know-how as a multidisciplinary engineering design firm. Indeed, the key elements of the project (the glass canopies and the panoramic lift) perfectly combine the structural and facade elements and the technical trades with synergy and harmony to the benefit of respect for the elegant architectural design.
