TERRELL’s role: Structural Engineering from Concept through to DetailedDesign plus Site Supervision.
Constructed over a trunk road, this building is situated on the edge of LaDefense, bordering Puteaux and Nanterre. A genuine link betweenseveral urban spaces, it will be bordered by towers on the north side, apedestrian bridge on the east side with sports facilities and parkland onthe south side. The project, which is part of a high quality environmentapproach, also stands out due to its architectural style. It is 160 metereslong and 35 metres wide, rising 5 stories above the La Defense podiumlevel.
The structure consists of long span steel lattice trusses at m centresspanning over the main road which itself becomes enclosed over thelenght of the building. Distribution of MEP services is achieved through afull height corridor contained within the depth of the trusses at eachlevel, thereby allowing both flexibility and ease of maintenance to thelargest trading floor in Europe.
