Site Supervision.
220 m clear-spans, using 16 m deep main truss frames at the openings.
Lateral stability consists of 32 m high x approx. 20 m wide vertical bracing
bays. Includes complex roof bracing configuration at lower roof level. Roof
deflection criteria proved critical as each hangar designed to include 5
suspended travelling cranes. A prefabricated prestressed concrete tension
beam inserted at ground level between supports to control deflections and
internal forces in each main truss. 100 m span transverse truss beams,
depth varying from 7 m to 12 m with 3 roof zones cantilevered 25 m.
Concrete pile foundations up to 1.2 m in diametre and 30 m in length due
to poor subsoil conditions. The hangars are designed to receive two A380,
six A340 and two A320 aircraft.
