Structural Engineering

A 44-storey residential tower with two underground parking levels and an adjacent seven-storey commercial building, located to the north of Elephant and Castle. Retail spaces as well as building entry lobbies provide active ground floor use to both buildings.
The structure is reinforced concrete, with 22-cm thick partially post-tensioned floors. The reinforced concrete core is constructed using self-climbing formwork. The facade is of prefabricated concrete and the foundations are executed by means of contiguous bored piles.
The project is part of a major regeneration project in Elephant & Castle.
