PROJECT AWARDED BIM SILVER AWARD 2020.

Project for the extension of the two existing buildings, B0 & K2, and construction of the Canopée building on the Thalès site in Pessac.

As part of the redevelopment of a former brownfield site, the project provides for the construction of office premises intended for research as well as the associated support services (crèche, cafeteria, etc.). The 4-storey central building will be built entirely of timber with composite timber/concrete floors, solid timber facades (HPL panels) and reinforced concrete bracing cores.

The retained existing buildings will be raised by one level and reinforced by a metal structure on the upper slab of the existing top level. Openings will be created in the existing facades to enable floor plate circulation by means of the addition of reinforced concrete external passageways. Use of low-carbon concrete (slag-based formulation).

Earthquake-resistant design (justification of existing structures with upward extension without requiring structural reinforcement).
